There’s always something to see and do when you make a trip to Surrey. No matter what time of year you’re planning to visit, you’ll find that there are a series of events to keep you entertained and having fun - and then there are the beautiful attractions you shouldn't miss. Get ready to laugh

If you like to laugh (and who doesn’t?), then you’ll want to check out the Snowed In Comedy Tour for non-stop laughter and a good time. An annual touring show, this year features four accomplished and talented headliners that include: Just For Laughs winner Dan Quinn, Great Canadian Laugh Off Winner Paul Myrehaug, 6-time Canadian Comedian of the Year nominee Pete Zedlacher, and the winner of the Seattle Comedy Competition, Damonde Tschritter. Snowed In, which has toured internationally, will be making its' stop at the Surrey Arts Centre on February 15 at 8 pm. Now in it’s 12th year, this comedy tour is the largest of its' kind in Canada, and always delivers the laughs to cure the mid-winter blues.
 

Take in a game

How about taking in a sports event while you’re in town? Vancouver is a city that is big on sports, so anytime you attend a ball game, you can be sure there will be thrills, cheers, food and a great environment! If you’re visiting in late February, take in an exciting soccer game and be in the stands to root for your new favourite team, the Vancouver Whitecaps. Our Major League Soccer Team will be playing home games during their regular season, from February to October. To kick off the season, they’ll be taking on Sporting Kansas City on February 29th at BC Place. Single game tickets start at $30.
 

Music and dancing

Are you fond of French culture? Then you’ll want to attend the 2020 Festival Du Bois, the largest francophone celebration in British Columbia. Now in its' 31st year, the festival will once again take place at Mackin Park, in Coquitlam, from March 6th to 8th. For 3 glorious days, there will be a wonderful slate of artists from our local community and from across the country that will delight and entertain audiences with French Canadian and Francophone folk music, world and original music - expect a good mix of both traditional and contemporary styles to be represented onstage. With music, there will be dancing, workshops, face painting, arts and crafts, childrens' games and activities, and a host of characters making an appearance at the park including, Frenchie the Clown. Look out for kiosks displaying fine works of art for sale and for food vendors serving up traditional delights such as tourtiere, poutine, maple sugar pie and African fusion cuisine, which is a wonderful new addition this year.
